In addition to his volunteer work here at JazzUSA.com and for the JazzUSA Foundation, Mark is also a Miles Ahead contributing host, correspondent for Artbeat Chicago on WTTW-TV, jazz editor for Chicago Magazine, music editor for the alternative weekly N'Digo and a producer of jazz recordings and events.

Well, at the 46th Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award ceremony held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 his work with the acclaimed Artbeat Chicago program garnered him a second Emmy award.

When asked about the prestigious presentations, Mr. Ruffin was somewhat at a loss for words saying only that "it is a great honor" and that it "should give a bit of a boost to my writing career." Indeed it should! Congratulations to a great writer, correspondent and contributor.
